Microneedling With Growth Factors for Hair Restoration
A Regenerative Approach to Thinning Hair
Hair thinning can be frustrating—and it is rarely as simple as finding the right shampoo, supplement or topical product.
At Cobb Wellness & Aesthetics, our approach to hair restoration combines regenerative treatments with attention to the underlying factors that influence healthy hair growth.
Microneedling with topical exosomes is one option we offer for women and men experiencing thinning hair or decreased hair density.
The treatment combines controlled microneedling of the scalp with a topical exosome-containing product designed to support the scalp environment during the regenerative process.
How Does Scalp Microneedling Work?
Microneedling creates thousands of controlled microchannels in the scalp.
This controlled stimulation initiates the body’s natural repair response and creates an environment that may support healthier scalp and follicle function.
Immediately following microneedling, a topical exosome product is applied to the treated scalp.
What Are Growth factors?
Exosomes are microscopic extracellular vesicles involved in communication between cells. They contain signaling molecules that can influence how surrounding cells respond to their environment.
In regenerative aesthetics and hair restoration, specially formulated topical exosome products may be incorporated into microneedling treatments to support the regenerative environment of the treated tissue.
Exosome therapy for hair restoration is considered investigational and is not FDA-approved for the treatment of hair loss.
Why Combine Microneedling With Growth factors?
The combination allows us to pair the scalp’s natural response to microneedling with topical regenerative signaling factors.
Treatment is designed to:
Support a healthier scalp environment
Stimulate the scalp’s natural repair response
Support existing hair follicles
Improve the appearance of thinning hair over time
Complement other hair-restoration treatments when appropriate
Results vary, and no regenerative treatment can guarantee new hair growth.
Hair Restoration Begins With More Than the Scalp
One of the things that distinguishes our approach is that we don’t look at the hair follicle in isolation from the rest of the body.
Hair growth requires adequate nutritional building blocks and can be influenced by hormonal health, thyroid function, metabolic health, stress, inflammation, medications and other medical factors.
When appropriate, your evaluation may include laboratory testing and recommendations to address factors that could be contributing to hair thinning.
This fits beautifully with your new Six Pillars philosophy without turning the hair page into another Six Pillars page.
What to Expect
Your scalp is cleansed and prepared, and topical anesthetic may be used for comfort.
Medical microneedling is then performed systematically over the areas of thinning hair. The exosome product is applied topically as part of the procedure.
Temporary redness, tenderness or sensitivity can occur following treatment. We will provide specific aftercare instructions for your scalp.
Because hair grows slowly and follows a natural growth cycle, improvement is evaluated over months rather than days or weeks.
Healthy Hair Starts With the Right Environment
Our goal isn’t simply to perform a procedure.
We want to support the internal health and scalp environment your hair needs to thrive while selecting regenerative treatments appropriate for you.
