Carboxytherapy

We have performed Carboxytherapy treatments for over 10 years. We have found that it is perfect as an add-on to many of the procedures we perform. Carboxytherapy works well in combination with our Exilis Elite skin tightening procedure, after Microneedling and PRP injections. Carboxytherapy helps to stimulate collagen, and improve circulation where it is injected. It can be used to treat crepiness and darkness under the eyes. Performing this procedure after Microneedling, PRP and Fillers supports the healing process.

We have created a combination procedure that includes exfoliation, a hydrating peel and Microneedling. Your skin will glow immediately after this procedure.

Carboxytherapy is a  simple technique in which carbon dioxide gas is infused into the skin .Carboxytherapy can be used on the face. Treatment is nonsurgical and comfortable for most patients. This procedure is considered a cosmetic treatment and does not treat medical conditions. We recommend combining carboxytherapy with other procedures.

How is Carboxytherapy performed?

A very small 30 gauge needle is used to inject the skin. From the injection point, the carbon dioxide diffuses to adjacent tissues.

How does Carboxytherapy work?

Carboxytherapy works in two complimentary ways.  First, it causes improved blood flow to tissues.  Vessels are dilated and more oxygen is delivered to tissues.  The increase in oxygen is important because it eliminates built up fluid from between the cells.  Second, it creates a microinjury that can stimulate collagen. We see in improvement in fine lines, tone and texture of the skin. In general, adding carboxytherapy to any facial procedure enhances the results.

Is Carboxytherapy painful?

Some patients can experience a light tingling sensation within the injected site.  It disappears within a matter of seconds.  As a result of increased circulation, the area treated can be warmer for 10 to 20 minutes.  If the treatment is found to be painful, numbing cream can be applied for 15 to 30 minutes before treatment to increase comfort.

Isn’t carbon dioxide toxic?

No. Carbon dioxide is naturally produced by the cells in our bodies every day of our lives as a by-product of metabolism. It is transported in the blood and exhaled through the lungs. The carbon dioxide infused in the problem area is minimal enough not to cause any adverse reactions.
